Brian's Song (2001)
A classic is reclassified in this remake of the Emmy Award-winning 1971 four-hanky weepie, Brian's Song. Based on the legendary rivalry/friendship of Chicago Bears running backs Brian Piccolo (Sean Maher) and Gale Sayers (Mekhi Phifer), Brian's Song packs a tremendous wallop, especially in the latter half when Piccolo is stricken with terminal cancer. In this version, the players' wives get more face time, adding immeasurably to the drama. (read more)
