Band of Brothers (2001)
description written by member Thom:
An epic HBO mini-series detailing the real life exploits of the US
Army's 101st airborne (EZ Company) from boot through the final days of
World War II, Band of Brothers presents an unflinching look at the real
men and events with little to no cinematic embellishment. Brainchild of
Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, it features a laundry list of solid if
not spectacular actors delivering complicated, poignant performances of
ordinary, flawed men that were asked to do extraordinary things.

Ambrose, Band of Brothers is a gutsy HBO mini-series following the journey of Easy Company through a number of soldiers, primarily Richard D. Winters and Lewis Nixon, as they travel across Europe fighting...

From the theme song to the gritty portrayal of what life was really like facing the Germans, this is an outstanding television series. Eisenhower's questionable philosophy of not rotating experienced troops off the front line made this story possible. The strengths and faults of each soldier, whether it was abusiveness,...

Without a doubt this series captures the call to duty, bravery and patriotism of the men and women who serve this nation in time of conflict and war. As a woman I found the underlying story lines to be gripping and well written, while the combat scenes were not so explicit as to cause me to turn away, which I could not...

Without question the greatest epic covering the events of any war, Band of Brothers, some ten hours detailing the real life exploits of the US Army's 101st airborne (EZ company) from boot through the final days of World War II, is a magnetic take of what it means to be a soldier. Unlike other war films where there is a...
