Do you ever watch a film and not like it the first time you saw it? Then you go back and watch it either because you want to try and give it another chance or more likely there is just nothing better on TV at the time and you end up thinking its a lot better the second time around? First things first, did anyone besides me cringe when Hanks uses the skate blade to knock out his infected tooth? Jesus, I think that gave me nightmares for months.

this was a really good movie. tom pulled this off with flying colors. it was a sort of love story with a hint of drama and comedy. tom gained alot of weight for this movie, then nearly dropped down to nothing to seem realistic......and it sure did. he was stranded on this island and day by day you could see him dwindle...
