Beautiful (2000)

A woman obsessed with trying to become Miss America spends her entire
life attempting to achieve that goal. Along the way she gets pregnant
and give the child to her best friend to raise so she can continue on
in her goal. When the friend is accused of murder, the wanna-be beauty
queen must face her daughter and try to care about something other than
herself.
