The Mummy 1999

From Amazon: If you're expecting bandaged-wrapped corpses and a lurching Boris Karloff-type villain, then you've come to the wrong movie. But if outrageous effects, a hunky hero, and some hearty laughs are what you're looking for, the 1999 version of The Mummy is spectacularly good fun. Yes, the critics called it "hokey," "cheesy," and "pallid." Well, the critics are unjust. Granted, the plot tends to stray, the acting is a bit of a stretch, and the characters occasionally slip into cliché, but who cares? When that action gets going, hold tight--those two hours just fly by. The premise of the movie isn't that far off from the original....

With its stale acting and uninspired contrivances, the Mummy should never rate higher than a guilty pleasure, though its playful banter at least makes it fun to watch.

Mummy pits nomadic adventurer Rick O'Connell (Brenden Fraser still failing to reach the career promised in School Ties) along with bookworm Evie (Rachel...

The Mummy Movie Review by Jarrod (9/16/2007)

'The Mummy' doesn't really try to be a remake of the old horror classic, and I am kind of glad it doesn't, it might be less fun. Spectacular special effects and a superbly entertaining performance from Brendan Fraser make this at least worthy as a weekend distraction. Fraser is Rick, an American who uncovers the lost...

The Mummy Movie Review by King Dangus Kahn (8/30/2007)

Well I'm back.....yes folks the rants on terrible movies will continue once more.

The Mummy. First off, Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are the "heros", big mistake number one. Here we have a bumbling moron and a retarded english woman saving the world from a resurected mummy guy. OOOOH....extra points on originality...
