  Pleasantville (1998)

From Amazon: Fantastical writer Gary Ross (Big, Dave) makes an auspicious directorial debut with this inspired and oddly touching comedy about two '90s kids (Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon) thrust into the black-and-white TV world of Pleasantville, a Leave It to Beaver-style sitcom complete with picket fences, corner malt shop, and warm chocolate chip cookies. It also makes a statement about racial prejudice, and is...

Pleasantville Movie Review by Terrence (5/11/2007)

There aren't very many films that share both wonderful visuals and an interesting surreal and heartfelt story.

Pleasantville is the story of a young boy and his sister as played by Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon who are transported into the world of a T.V. show that is one part Leave it To Beaver and one part...

Pleasantville Movie Review by Jesse (1/4/2007)

This is the most underrated film of the past decade. It's brilliant. Gary Ross is slowly becoming on of my favourite writers. With such great films like Big, Dave, this and Seabiscuit he should be receiving a lot of attention.

Ok. I am going to say it plain and simple: This film should have been nominated for Best...
