There was a big push to get this movie advertised as being a horror movie, but I don't see it as such. I see it as an homage to the low budget sci-i flicks of yore, complete with a young and hip cast and topped off with a second half of cast comprised of favorite not-quites.
Most of the "adult" roles are played by people...

It must be a rite of passage...every actor or actress has to star in at least one horror movie. A la Jamie Lee Curtis, Vivian Leigh, Denise Richards, David Boreanaz, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Neve Campbell, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Frankie Munitz, Freddie Prince Jr., Drew Barrymore...
