Event Horizon 1997

From Amazon: Drawing from Andrei Tarkovsky's heady science fiction meditation Solaris by way of Alien and Hellraiser, this visually splendid but pulpy piece of science fiction schlock concerns a mission in the year 2047 to investigate the experimental American spaceship Event Horizon, which disappeared seven years previously and suddenly, out of nowhere, reappeared in the orbit of Neptune. Laurence Fishburne stars as mission commander Captain Miller and Sam Neill is Dr. Weir, the scientist who designed the mystery ship. Miller's T-shirt- and army-green-clad crew of smart-talking pros finds a ship dead and deserted, but further...

Event Horizon Movie Review by Filmkiller (6/19/2012)

Event Horizon is one of the films I used to really like that hasn't aged like a fine wine; it hasn't exactly turned into vinegar, but I can no longer imbibe it without making a lemon-face. Infused within the film are several interesting ideas, but general filmmaking sloppiness reserves the picture its place in the pantheon...

Event Horizon Movie Review by BillyBob (11/21/2011)

Me thinks - EVENT HORIZON was just your typical "shock-the-audience-before-they-fall-asleep" type flick. I really had to laugh at how hard this film tried, and tried, and tried (ho-hum) to shock the socks right off of me. But, unfortunately, it failed quite miserably.

I mean, I really couldn't take this whole bungled mess...

Event Horizon Movie Review by The Alpha Craig (6/23/2008)

It also killed this movie (just kidding, but not really.) This was not a great movie and it was not a terrible movie. It was an average movie. I could spit out some malicious comment like, "I liked this movie. I liked it the first two times I saw when it place under water and was called LEVIATHEN or DEEP STAR SIX", but...

Event Horizon Movie Review by Jarrod (6/17/2008)

'Event Horizon' combines elements of Alien with elements of Solaris, but cannot strike a balance between them; this is a scary and gruesome sci-fi horror flick that attempts to build its plot around the laws and terminology of astrophysics, notably the black hole, which is the curious space phenomenon that powers the...

Event Horizon Movie Review by Misty (6/9/2008)

Let me just start by saying that this movie freaked me out. It was great.

Space exploration has always been a big deal. Ever since the first man walked on the moon we've been exploring space and trying to make better ships to take us there. Imagine if someone made a ship that could bend or tear the time/space continuum...
