Booty Call 1997

From Amazon: Okay, so Booty Call is trashy and often sophomoric. It is still funny. Tommy Davidson and Tamala Jones have been dating for almost two months and are pushed into that big romantic night by best friends Jamie Foxx and Vivica A. Fox (as the hysterically named "Lysterine"). The friends, of course, engage in a verbal war based on instant loathing and mutual attraction. The humor is low-brow and sometimes stereotypical, but this is worth watching just for the scene in which the two guys, concerned about "safe sex," cover themselves in plastic wrap. It pushes the envelope, which is fun, but the clearly homophobic tendencies cause it to lose...

Booty Call Movie Review by Tim (2/27/2009)

I worked at a movie theatre when this film came out and remember watching it in the theatre..I was probably 17 at the time. I remembered it being somewhat funny so when I saw it playing on HBO I watched it again. I enjoyed much better this time.

This is actually a REALLY funny film. I mean I was laughing hysterically...

I steered clear of this movie when it first came out because the title seemed so ghetto to me. I'd always prided myself of watching movies that cast black people in a positive light instead of catered to the same old tired stereotypes. So a title like BOOTY CALL seemed like it would be a movie that defeated my ultimate...
