From Amazon: Baz Luhrmann (Strictly Ballroom) takes a shot at reinventing Shakespeare's story of star-crossed lovers as a visual pastiche inspired by MTV imagery, Hong Kong action-picture clichés, and Luhrmann's own taste for deliberate, gaudy excess. William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet Movie Review by BRIAN (5/8/2010)

I've just finished watching this film and I can't believe what a terrible Juliet that Claire Danes made. Not only could Danes not act the part, but she also didn't look the part, either. For me, Juliet was supposed to be an exceptionally attractive girl, who was literally brimming over with charm, intelligence and sexual...

Without the presence of DANES, as Juliet, I believe that this flick could have actually had the potential to be better than it was. (Not much better, mind...

PS- I had written this review of the movie on my old profile, this is my new profile. Thank you.

Classic story of Romeo and Juliet, set in a modern-day city of Verona Beach. The Montagues and Capulets are two feuding families, whose children meet and fall in love. They have to hide their love from the world because they...

William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet Movie Review by Lisa (6/7/2007)

I do love Shakespeare, and for other fans of good ole Will you'll either love or loathe Baz Luhrmann's interpretation of Shakespeare's most famous Play.

Personally I loved it, even though it was clearly geared toward the MTV kids it still retained its integrity by sticking to the original dialogue. Baz Luhrman took away...
