Inventing the Abbotts (1997)

This coming-of-age love story set in the 1950s introduces the three Abbott sisters (Liv Tyler, Jennifer Connelly and Joanna Going), who are the epitome of desire, beauty and success -- at least in the eyes of Jacey Holt (Billy Crudup) and his younger brother, Doug (Joaquin Phoenix). As the low-key Doug desires the girls from afar, he admires and envies his more outgoing brother's ability to be with each one in turn.
