Independence Day 1996

From Amazon: In Independence Day, a scientist played by Jeff Goldblum once actually had a fistfight with a man (Bill Pullman) who is now president of the United States. That same president, late in the film, personally flies a jet fighter to deliver a payload of missiles against an attack by extraterrestrials. Independence Day is the kind of movie so giddy with its own outrageousness that one doesn't even blink at such howlers in the plot. Directed by Roland Emmerich, Independence Day is a pastiche of conventions from flying-saucer movies from the 1940s and 1950s, replete with icky monsters and bizarre coincidences that create...

Independence Day Movie Review by BillyBob (1/3/2010)

Shlurp! Shlurp! German Director ROLAND EMMERICH has got to be the biggest sucker on the American-Ass that I have ever seen. Man, this guy's lips must have more frickin' 'All-American' suction-power in 'em than a bloody typhoon.

Considering that EMMERICH was not (and I don't think he is yet) an American citizen at the time...

Independence Day Movie Review by William (7/28/2009)

This movie is my all time favorite. Will Smith leads a great cast in this sci-fi action-adventure thriller about a group of Alien spacecrafts who enter earth's orbit to kill every human being on earth and it's to a group of survivors to fight off the attacks. This films features nonstop excitement and great effects. Bill...

Independence Day Movie Review by Thomas (7/5/2008)

In honor of the 4th of July, I will review the best movie of this holiday. This movie should be along the lists of "Star Wars", "Close Encounters of the third kind" and other great sci movies. This brought the disaster film genre back. It had an all star cast and made Will Smith a movie star (he was already a music and tv...

Independence Day Movie Review by Zara (11/7/2007)

For the sheer hokiness of it all, I like this movie. As a whole, it's a bad film. There are still little parts here and there which make it enjoyable. I personally liked Brett Spiner (best known as being Data on the new Star Trek show) as the hippy dippy doctor.

But overall, there isn't much to remember about this movie...

Independence Day Movie Review by Movie Addict (8/21/2007)

I go back and visit this film occasionally as it has all the qualifications for real entertainment.

Roland Emmerich, who did Stargate and Godzilla, knows how to put together a film that incorporates great sound, and special effects, with some pretty good acting to boot.

Bill Pullman, Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, and Judd...
