Devil in a Blue Dress (1995)

Denzel Washington stars as Easy Rawlins, an aircraft factory worker who is laid off. Needing work so that he does not lose the one thing he loves.....his house......he takes a job by a crooked private detective (Sizemore) and is hired to find a missing woman, he becomes entangled in a dangerous case involving crooked politicians that want the woman dead.

A good film noir by Carl Franklin (One False Move), with great cinematography by Tak Fujimoto ("John Adams", The Sixth Sense).
Denzel Washington is fantastic as 'Easy' Rawlins, with Don Cheadle as his buddy, Mouse. They battle Tom Sizemore in their quest to find Daphne Monet (Jennifer Beals).
