It's been quite a while since I saw this flick, so forgive the fact that I've forgotten some of the key aspects of this movie. I do think, however, that the direction, casting, and acting were all extraordinary.
I believe Tom Hanks did a very respectible job as this real life astronaut against unbelievable odds...just...

If it is your guy's turn to pick the movie this is a good one to sit through ladies.
Ron Howard shows us that Opie is all grown up and quite talented in Apollo 13.
The story is a good solid story line of guys sticking together, working hard to overcoming an obstacle and becoming heros in the end.
