Heavenly Creatures (1994)
description written by member T:
Based on the true story of the 1950's Parker-Hulme murder case, this
Peter Jackson movie fairly accurately chronologs the timeline of events
leading up to the murder. Two girls, each social outcasts in a small
Christchurch town, bond and develop their own highly detailed fantasy
world. When the parents, disturbed by the girls' closeness, find a way
to separate them, the girls focus their anger on Parker's mother with
tragic consequences.

Upon release, they were told that...

This movie about an extremely controversial (for the time) 1950's murder case in Christchurch manages to treat the story in a really sympathetic manner and remain true to the timeline of events. It was brilliantly done, and gives enough scope that the viewer can see both sides of the coin - both the victim and the...

Peter Jackson's beautiful movie about a true story of two young lesbians who decide to plot a murder so that they may continue their romance.
The girls (Melanie Lynskey and Kate Winslet) live in a fantasy world that Jackson constructs out of people that seem like puppets and dolls, mud people who appreciate that these...

This is the first time Lord of the Rings couple Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh have teamed up together. They wrote the script to this haunting film which is based on real life events.
Pauline Parker and Juliet Hulme met in school during the 1950s. Instant best friends, they proceeded to spend every minute possible...
