Babes on Broadway Movie Review by KoKo (4/4/2013)

Complete with an off-putting, blackface "Minstrel Show", 1941's Babes On Broadway was a trite "boy-meets-girl" Musical/Comedy (typical of its time) where everyone was literally bubbling over with talent and resourcefullness, and a big, loud "happy ending" was the story's only permissible conclusion.

While WW2 raged on...

Probably my favorite Judy/Mickey movie just because of the pure scale of the thing. Mickey Rooney is able to showcase his drum skills and comic chops and Judy is able to stun everyone with that voice, and prove that she actually is funny.
The plot is same old, same old...wanna put on a show, but no one believes in them,...
