The Silence of the Lambs (1990)

From Amazon: Based on Thomas Harris's novel, this terrifying film by Jonathan Demme really only contains a couple of genuinely shocking moments (one involving an autopsy, the other a prison break). The rest of the film is a splatter-free visual and psychological descent into the hell of madness, redeemed astonishingly by an unlikely connection between a monster and a haunted young woman. Anthony Hopkins is extraordinary as the cannibalistic psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter, virtually entombed in a subterranean prison for the criminally insane. At the behest of the FBI, agent-in-training Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) approaches Lecter, requesting his...

The Silence of the Lambs Movie Review by B Movie Ben (10/5/2008)

What in the world could you say about this film that hasn't already been mentioned? With 39 awards, and another 27 nominations, it is certainly a film for the ages.

Revisiting it after watching Hannibal Rising was a real treat.

To see the performances of Sir Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster in what is truly the roles of...

The Silence of the Lambs Movie Review by Tim (2/19/2008)

Silence Of The Lambs is a good movie but why it gets the credit that it does is a big of a mystery to me. For a 1991 film it looks surprisingly dated as a mid 80's film. The plot in interesting but I find it slow at times. The characters are good, but besides Hopkins I found the performances to be at best average.

The...

The Silence of the Lambs Movie Review by Jarrod (8/30/2007)

'Silence of the Lambs' is one of the creepiest and most compelling thrillers ever made. It is a study of the pathology of evil, the psychology of evil, and a competent police procedural, with an FBI agent masterfully using her own intuition and resourcefulness to capture an elusive serial killer, by asking one for advice...

The Silence of the Lambs Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie (3/10/2007)

Anthony Hopkins has never been so creepy and I have never connected so deeply with Jodie Foster as in this creepy horror-thriller that took home Best Picture.

We all know about Hannibal Lecter and the gross feeling that sets in when we think of him. If you haven't seen this film, but you have seen the prequels you are...

The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
director: Jonathan Demme
starring: Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Scott Glenn, Ted Levine, Anthony Heald, Brooke Smith, Kasi Lemmons

Horror films have forever been popular in movie-going society, but not until The Silence of the Lambs was released did the genre take a drastic turn. Not only...
