Kindergarten Cop (1990)

Arnold Schwarzenegger made a successful transition to comedy with this 1990 box-office hit directed by Ivan Reitman. Arnold plays an undercover cop whose attempt to locate a little boy and his mother leads him to a small-town kindergarten class, where he poses as a teacher while continuing his investigation. He's also trying to catch a vicious drug dealer (Richard Tyson), whose ex-wife and son are the pair that Arnold's trying to rescue from impending danger. I'm not sure what the producers were going for when they released this movie. There are elements which are clearly not for children, with murders, kidnappings and the child abuse of small kids and yet it clearly is demonstrating a family friendly approach with its posters and marketing campaign.

I really do think that Arnold was a pretty good actor, before he decided to Govern our poor state of California. In this flick we get to see him in a comedy roll, rather than those action hero types he usually plays and he really did a great job with it.
Since it's such an old movie I only gave it 4 stars, because I know...
