Frankenstein Unbound (1990)
In Los Angeles of 2031 scientist Joe Buchanan has just developed a weapon that can destroys an object by molecularly imploding it. At the same strange pink clouds have been appearing in the sky, causing objects to disappear. One of these appears over Buchanan's house and he and his car are swallowed up. Buchanan finds himself on an unfamiliar lakeside and eventually discovers that he has been thrown back in time to Switzerland of 1816. He is then startled to encounter not only Mary Shelley but also a very real Baron Frankenstein who is being hounded by his monstrous creation. (read more)

You know that I love time-travel movies. This one was certainly different as John Hurt (The Elephant Man, Midnight Express, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Recount) ends up back in the day of Dr. Frankenstein.
