Frankenstein 1931

Unbeknownst to his fiancée (Mae Clarke), young scientist Dr. Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive) -- aided by his hunchbacked assistant, Fritz (Dwight Frye) -- has been building a monster made of spare parts. But no one is prepared, not even the doctor, when the creature comes to terrifying life. The acting by Colin Clive as Henry Frankenstein and Boris Karloff as...

Frankenstein Movie Review by Derringer (9/15/2010)

Fee. Fye. Foe. Fum.

Released in 1931 - "FRANKENSTEIN" is now 80 years old, and, yes, still going strong. Now, that's what I'd call an exceptionally enduring horror-movie classic, if there ever was one.

With only his eyes, and an occasional grunt, to convey meaning, BORIS KARLOFF gives a powerful and sensitive performance...

Frankenstein Movie Review by AJ (4/14/2006)

Not only the best of the classic Universal horror films that I've seen, but quite possibly the best ever made in the genre, Whale's Frankenstein is completely haunting, chilling, and unforgettable. There is no musical score, which heightens the tension and adds to the already high amount of fright contributed by the...
