I am a goddess, really!

I am a goddess, really!
Okay so that might not have been a bad idea along with Robert Downy Jr. as IRON MAN, Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, Colin Ferral as Bullseye, Heath Ledger as the Joker and pretty much the entire cast of Watchmen, but there have been some pretty poor casting choices for some of my favorite men and women in tights. Today's column will be a list of just a few of those choices.

Halle Berry as Storm
This woman is now best known for breaking into a tearful conniption fit while winning an Oscar, showing her breasts in SWORDFISH even though she opted out of the oral scene and having one of the most graphic and awkward sex scenes ever with Billy Bob
This picture says it all.

Thornton
. Storm in a mutant and can control the forces of nature vie weather manipulation. When Professor Xavier recruited her, she was posing as a goddess in the Serengeti. She needed to be played by a strong woman like Angela Bassett. I call re-cast!

Jessica Alba as Sue Storm
How is that for a segue? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the Alba, I even like her in certain things. I just think they need someone closer to Ioan Gruffudd's age like maybe Katherine Heigl or Elizabeth Banks whom can play a serious, intelligent motherly character while still being able to pull off so of the humor that goes along with the Fantastic Franchise. Plus those two

are real blondes. I call re-cast!

Daniel Cudmore as Colossus
Don't get this twisted around, he was fine. I am not looking for just fine though. Peter Rasputin is Russian, that was part of the diversity kick the second line-up of the X-Men were going for so it played a big part of his character. Get someone like Roland Kickinger (Austrian body builder and body double for Arnold Schwarzenegger in TERMINATOR SALVATION) or Mariusz Pudzianowski (a Pollish body builder also consider for that parts as body double for Arnold Schwarzenegger in TERMINATOR SALVATION). The only issue with those two would be acting, but due to the limited camera time and lack of dialog it
One of the few roles I enjoyed him in.

might not be an issue. I call re-cast!

Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider
There are so many guys would have been a better choice. Chris Evans, Ryan Reynolds, Paul Walker, Sam Worthington, James Marsden or Jake Gyllenhaal would have worked in my opinion. Cage has a specific character he has developed over the years that he portrays well, but Johnny Blaze is far from it. I call re-cast!

I am not sure how many more columns I am going to be writing due to the fact that my job and referee gig are taking up much of my spare time now and the simple fact that nobody seems to be reading these anymore. If I do continue, this will be another feature. Thanks for reading true believers, EXCELSIOR!

I always had a big beef with Toby MaGuire as Peter Parker...

...still do.

I agree. In theory it sounds good, but he plays Peter Parker as too whiny and doesn't crack nearly enough jokes and one-liners.

Ya ha, I kind of hoped Nicholas Brendan would land the role, or Topher Grace, but then he popped up later in even more of a puzzler...

I am the first and the last, maybe not. I'm 31 years old and still spend my disposable income on comic books. Might as well put it to good use.
