LOBSTER STICKS TO MAGNET!

This is who I think of as Magneto.

This is who I think of as Magneto.
If that doesn't make sense to you, Google it and thank/hate me later. But now on to the subject at hand, why I feel there is no need for X-MEN ORIGINS: MAGNETO movie to be made. I am sure it would seem like a wet dream come true for a dork like me that we have seemed to have fallen into a comic book movie renaissance. I will forgo the whole rant about whenever a comic book movie is released, anyone who knows me starts asking thousands of questions like, "Did that happen in the comic?", "Did you think it was better than the comic", "Why does nobody at The Xavier Academy for Gifted Children ever age?" and about everything else you can imagine. Instead I am going to just explain why they should just ignore to urge to, once again, try to cash in on a franchise that should have never made it past the second movie (that would be

- Courteous Craig.

In the comic he was born in Germany in late 1925 or 1926 to a Jewish family and named Max Eisenhardt. His family was killed by the Nazis and he was taken away to Auschwitz-Birkenau, where he eventually became a Sonderkommando (a prisoner who aided with the killing process of other prisoners - Acedemic Alpha.) While there, he met and fell in love with a Sinte gypsy girl named Magda and took on the name Magnus. Over time he realized that he had mental control over magnetic fields and metal. After fathering to children with Magda (who eventually grow up to become Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver - Corny Craig), Magda left for fear of what he would do if he ever unleashed his power in anger. He

then took on the name Erik Lehnsherr and began working with Charles Xavier at a psychiatric hospital. They decided to teach others like them with unique abilities and had a falling out. Many years later they are still trying to do the same thing from opposite ends of the spectrum.

In the movie he was born in Germany around the time of World War 2 to a Jewish family and unnamed. He is shown being dragged into Auschwitz and away from his parents when his magnetic powers manifested. That is about all we were shown and it got the point across. It is pretty cut and dry unless they are going as far in depth as the comic book, they may as well leave well enough alone.

This is where my opinion comes into play. First off we were treated to seeing Sir Ian McKellen as the villain in three movies now. The audience is given a

good enough reason why he is a "bad guy", hate toward Nazis and prejudice from flatscans (non-mutant humans that possess no powers - Adherent Alpha.) I get why they made X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, it made sense. They hinted about his past, but never really explained. I even get why they are planning on a Deadpool spin-off due to the limited amount of camera time he was given. A movie about Magneto surviving Auschwitz is unneeded because it is quite clear he made it out alive by virtue of the fact that he is in the first three movies.

The bottom line is that we have been as much of this franchise as we wanted and then some. It might just be a good idea to let the comic book movie phenomenon die down a bit before unleashing more. That is just my take on it. Thanks for reading true believers, EXCELSIOR!

I am the first and the last, maybe not. I'm 31 years old and still spend my disposable income on comic books. Might as well put it to good use.
