Warning this column is a look at the top 7 sex scenes in mainstream films (not porn) and does contain some semi-graphic / nude content in the video clips embedded into this column. Please do not read if you are offended by anything of a sexual nature.
Lets face it, sex scenes can be the reason we watch films sometimes. How many times have you been skeptical about a film and once you see that the MPAA has labeled it with strong sensuality, strong sexual content, nudity, or even adult situations your mind quickly gets made up just because it has those elements that you can't resist. Maybe its more of a guy thing but I think females are intrigued as well with sex in films. As every year goes by Hollywood pushes what they can get away with more and more. Remember when Playboy bunnies use to have on bathing suits in the magazine? Well if you do then your old.....but films were a lot like that 50 years ago, sex just was too taboo to show. Now filmmakers are having to go on record saying that "no despite what you heard the actors did not actually have sex" because the scenes are becoming more and more graphic. Here is a look at My Top 7 Sex Scenes.
7. Actors : Bruce Willis / Jane March Film: Color Of Night Color of Night was released in 1994 and brought in less then $20,000,000.00 at the box office. It was a drama / thriller in which Bruce Willis plays an emotionally damaged psychiatrist that takes over his buddies practice after he is murdered. While Willis is in town he meets Jane March and they start having a very steamy relationship with lots of sex. The directors cut which is still a cut version of the film, does show a full frontal shot of Willis's manhood. This was Jane March's second film in which she did explicit sex scenes, the first being called The Lover. Its really not a bad movie, and it did pretty well in rentals and can be considered a cult film these days.
6. Actors : Sylvester Stallone / Sharon Stone Film: The Specialist
Again this film had a much better directors cut. Sex is one of the first things that gets cut when the MPAA threatens with a NC-17 rating. I started to write a description of the sex scenes in this film and then thought, better to have a visual. This is not the entire shower scene, but a clip of it. Sly and Sharon have been building up trust and a relationship mainly over the phone and when they finally meet, its a royal rumble in the shower! AGAIN if you are under 18 or offended by sexual scenes then do NOT watch!
5. Actors : Michael Douglas / Jeanne Tripplehorn Film: Basic Instinct
I remember buying this film on VHS because of the over exaggerated hype of Sharon Stone's infamous leg crossing scene. The thing about Basic Instinct is the best sex scene doesn't even have Sharon Stone in it. Jeanne Tripplehorn who is absolutely gorgeous and Michael Douglas go at it in which almost looks forced as towards the end Tripplehorn screams NO several times. I cant remember if this scene was only available in the directors cut or not but once again here is the scene for your viewing pleasure. AGAIN if you are under 18 or offended by sexual scenes then do NOT watch!
4. Actors : Heath Ledger / Jake Gyllenhaal Film: Brokeback Mountain
I was one of the people that saw Brokeback Mountain almost a year after it came out. It just really didn't appeal to me even though the hype surrounding it was ridiculous. However I do remember watching it and seeing the unforgettable "tent" scene with Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal as two gay cowboys having intercourse with each other. I found it interesting to find out who was catching and who was pitching. Although not nearly as graphic as many scenes involving men and women, this scene makes a certain statement and can be just as shocking as seeing ALL body parts involving a heterosexual scene.
3. Actors : Jennifer Connelly / ????? Film: Requiem For A Dream
A couple things make one of the greatest sex scenes unforgettable. The first thing is the obvious, you have one of the hottest lesbian sex scenes ever filmed and its starring the very hot Jennifer Connelly. The second thing that is just plain awesome is that the director Darren Aronofsky stated in the DVD commentary that the "ass to ass" scene was something that he had actually witnessed in real life. Knowing that somewhere, some people are having that much fun just makes it that much cooler.
So yeah if you have seen the movie then you are probably mad at me right about now....sorry guys I looked everywhere for the whole clip but couldn't find it!
2. Actors : Neve Campbell / Denise Richards Film: Wild Things
Do you remember the first time you saw Wild Things? I remember thinking that here was the girl from Party of Five and here is the girl from Starship Troopers and then OH MY GOD THEY ARE KISSING!!!! It was a nice surprise in a movie that was already full of surprises. To make it better they beat the shit out of each other and then have makeup lesbian sex...I mean a guy cant ask for more from a film. Standing next to Denise Richards is hard to do when comparing naked bodies and looks but Campbell held her own and was surprisingly attractive as the trailer trashy gothic girl. AGAIN if you are under 18 or offended by sexual scenes then do NOT watch!
1. Actors : Billy Bob Thorton / Halle Berry Film: Monster's Ball
I have to give my all time favorite to Monster's Ball. The two actors involved took a really big risk and both committed to a scene that neither had to do to boost either's career. Most actors and actresses do sex scenes like this when they are struggling trying to make it in the industry and they had already made it. If this scene doesn't get you hot and ready to go then your genitals must be broken! AGAIN if you are under 18 or offended by sexual scenes then do NOT watch!
Well there you have it. Hopeful again you enjoyed my column and you either agree with it or rush out to rent some of the films on the list that you have not seen. This is actually my second to last column for a while as I am passing the spot to someone else because of current time issues.
