DARTH VADER

DARTH VADER
I know that most people root for the good guy in a movie and that it is politically correct to do so. But sometimes following evil is just inevitable. There have been lots of "good" Bad guys in the movies. I wanted to give credit where credit is due. Here's a few that I think are benchmark villians:

DARTH VADER:

Where would we be if we didn't have DARTH VADER? Dark, mysterious, with a voice of terror. A jedi turned bad with hatred towards all that oppose him. His weapon of choice, a red glowing light saber. Everyone knows who DARTH VADER is, even people who haven't seen the movies. He is an icon for bad guys.

The JOKER:

Dark, demented, funny with a twisted sick sense of humor. That is the JOKER. In the first Batman movie, there could have not been a better actor picked for the part, other than Jack Nicholson. Armed with loud suits, dangerous pranks, and henchmen with tommy-guns, the JOKER was Gotham's biggest and baddest criminal. Another

poster-child for bad guys.

AGENT SMITH:

Monotone, clever, interference of the Matrix world. Dressed in black, suit & tie, with an expressionless agenda that kept us glued to the screen. AGENT SMITH will be remembered for years to come. All someone has to say is "Mister Anderson"... and this big screen phantom surfaces to the top.

TERMINATOR:

Robotic, flesh covered metal skeleton, with a programmed mission to kill. Who doesn't know "I'll be back". TERMINATOR was armed with pretty much any type of weapon or explosive that he could steal, over-take, or configure into a death certificate. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a perfect fit for this character and will always be remembered for the iconic role.

CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW:

Johnny Depp turned this off kilter, rambling pirate into a Disney fortune. Armed with sword and black powder pistols, a yearning for adventure, and a mouth full of rubbish, Depp made this thieving character one to like for lack of better

judgement. JACK SPARROW is an old world favorite for up and coming film buffs alike.

DOC HOLLIDAY:

Val Kilmer convinced me that he was born to play DOC. A gambler, a gunslinger, and a crook. DOC made the western era look cool. He was smooth-talking, well dressed, and was armed at the hip. Good at cards and even better with a six shooter, DOC is a western legend as well as a cinematic icon. " I'm your huckleberry... "

More for the list of Honors:

Billy the Kid - Young Guns

Tony Montana - Scarface

Drexel Spivey - True Romance

Henry Hill - Goodfellas

Neil McCauley - Heat

Freddy Krueger - Nightmare on Elm Street

Jason Voorhees - Friday 13th

Tyler Durden - Fight Club

Vincent - Collateral

All of these are memorable roles of villains, criminals, and murderers. They are icons for what a benchmark bad guy shouuld be. They will be remembered and talked about , looked up to, and admired, and most of all represent the BAD that is in all of us.
